PhD in particle physics in 2002 from Hamburg University and DESY, working on linear collider detector track reconstruction studies, and doing QCD studies with the OPAL Experiment at CERN. Then postdoc at Fermilab, working for Kansas State University at the DZero experiment, playing a leading role in silicon detector operations and upgrades, and doing electroweak precision measurements.
