Outreach

Through our outreach events and resources, PPD shares the excitement of discovery and world-class science with students, teachers, and members of the public. From student masterclasses and coding workshops to public access days and career insights, PPD strives to make particle physics accessible, engaging, and fun for all.

Annual Particle Physics Masterclass

Our annual Particle Physics Masterclasses give students hands-on experience with real LHC data, talks from PPD researchers, and tours of world-class facilities. Designed primarily for students taking ‘A’ or ‘AS’ level physics modules, the masterclasses are also open to any physics student or teacher interested in exploring particle physics.

Our seminars

Stay at the forefront of particle physics with weekly PPD seminars, featuring the latest research, discoveries, and ideas from our scientists and international collaborators. Open to researchers, students, and anyone curious about the science shaping our understanding of the Universe.

Outreach at Boulby

At the Boulby Underground Laboratory, located 1.1 km beneath Boulby Mine, we bring the excitement of deep underground science to classrooms, communities and curious minds across the UK. As one of the few facilities worldwide capable of ultra-low background research, Boulby advances particle physics, dark matter detection, environmental science and quantum technologies.
