Thursday 19 April 2018 Speaker: Dr Tsunayuki Matusbara (KEK IPNS/J-PARC) Title: "Upgrade plan of the T2K experiment toward leptonic CP violation search” Abstract: T2K presented a hint that the symmetry between matter and antimatter may be violated for neutrino oscillation with 95% C.L. in summer 2017. Toward better precision of leptonic CP violation search, T2K has proposed a run extension up to 2x10^22 POT with upgrade programs. One of the program is an upgrade of neutrino beamline to accept high intensity of proton beam from J-PARC main ring up to 1.3 MW being upgraded in a few years. Another program is to upgrade T2K near detector to suppress systematic error in coming precision era, aiming to install in 2021. In this seminar I will present status and prospects of the upgrade programs for the T2K experiment.
