Wednesday 29 March 2017 Speaker: Kerim Suruliz (University of Sussex) Title: "ATLAS ttbar+V measurements” Abstract: I will review the ATLAS measurements of top quark production in association with a vector boson. These rare processes are an important background to many searches for physics beyond the Standard Model. The ttZ process in particular provides a unique opportunity to measure the coupling of the top quark to the Z boson, on which there were no direct constraints prior to the LHC era. I will highlight connections of this measurement with Higgs and SUSY physics, and discuss future prospects and directions of research.
