Wednesday 10 June 2015 Speaker: Asher Kaboth (Imperial College London) Title: "First Antineutrino Oscillation Results from T2K" Abstract: The T2K long-baseline neutrino experiment studies the oscillation of muon neutrinos in two channels: muon neutrino disappearance and electron neutrino appearance. Between 2010 and 2013, T2K studied oscillation using a neutrino-dominated beam, and made the first measurement of electron neutrino appearance, as well as other world-leading measurements. Since 2014, T2K has operated using an antineutrino-dominated beam, which allows for the investigation of differences in neutrino and antineutrino oscillation. I will discuss the motivation for these neutrino oscillation studies and report on the first oscillation analyses using the antineutrino beam.
