Speaker: Simon Bevan (Trader in Citi Group)


Title: "From Particles to Electronic Trading" 

Abstract: I will give a detailed overview of the exciting world of foreign 
exchange electronic trading (eFX), detailing the cutting edge technology and 
mathematics that drive the modern markets. Throughout I will highlight how 
the skills developed during my stint in HEP translated directly into eFX 
and why particle physicists are still in such demand. I work for Citi and 
my official title is trader, I also have a corporate title of VP, but I 
generally get called a quant trader. I work in FX on the derivatives desk, 
but the talk will mostly be about non-derivative products.
