Wednesday 18 June 2014 Speaker: Steve Worm (RAL/PPD) Title: "Exotic Physics and Highlights from Moriond" Abstract: The hunt for exotic new phenomena covers many different and interesting physics possibilities. Are there extra dimensions? New heavy resonances? Are long-lived particles slipping right past our detection? And what can the LHC say about the mysterious Dark Matter? Astrophysical evidence adds to the challenge, and serves to highlight that the canonical theories of cosmology and particle physics are incomplete. I will discuss the latest results on the search for new phenomena from particle physics and cosmology, with an emphasis on the results from the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at the LHC and those shown at the Moriond QCD and Moriond Cosmology conferences.
