Wednesday 7 May 2014 Speaker: Paras Naik (Bristol University) Title: "How multi-body D decays from CLEO help to measure the CP-violating phase γ at LHCb" Abstract: Precision determination of the CP-violating phase γ via B meson decays to D K at LHCb depends upon constraints on charm mixing amplitudes, measurements of amplitudes and relative phases for D meson decays, and studies of correlated charm Dalitz plots tagged by flavor or CP eigenstates. Using the CLEO II.V, CLEO III, and CLEO-c data samples produced by the Cornell Electron Storage Ring (CESR), we perform analyses of several D meson decays useful for constraining γ via this method. We present measurements of γ at LHCb that rely on several of these CLEO constraints.
