Wednesday 9 May 2012 Speaker: Christoph Englert (IPPP Durham) Title: "Evasive Higgs Manoeuvres at the LHC" Abstract: Non-standard decays of the Higgs boson produced at the Large Hadron Collider can lead to signatures which can easily be missed due to non-adapted trigger or search strategies. In this talk I describe how simple modifications of the SM Higgs sector can weaken current LHC bounds and how to eventually regain sensitivity to such scenarios exploiting novel sub-jet techniques and combinations of different search strategies. Finally I am going to discuss some implications of the observed 125 GeV excess.
