Wednesday 29 February 2012 Speaker: Chris Thomas (Oxford University) Title: "CP violation in two-body charm decays at LHCb" Abstract: I will present a recent LHCb study of D0 decays to the final states K+ K- and pi+ pi-. The study was performed on a total of 580/pb of data collected by LHCb in 2011. The quantity measured, Delta A_{CP}, is equal to the difference between CP-violating asymmetries in the K+ K- and pi+ pi- final states. A significant deviation from zero (the CP-conserving hypothesis) is observed.
