Wednesday 12 Jan. 2011 Speaker: Fergus Wilson (RAL/PPD) Title: "B Factories - Past and Future". Abstract: The BaBar and Belle experiments have come to the end of their data-taking after collecting 1.2 billion B-meson pairs. As well as measuring the sides and angles of the CKM Unitarity Triangle, they have produced results in areas such as Lepton Flavour Violation, D0 mixing, exotic particles, spectroscopy, g-2, two photon physics and dark matter searches. I will review some of the main highlights from the last 10 years and discuss the motivation and prospects for the new generation of B Factories, Belle II and SuperB.
