Wednesday 5 May 2010 Speaker: Hong-Mo (PPD, RAL) Title: Double Feature: "A Tale of Two CPs" and "The Mystery of the Charmless Higgs" Abstract: I intend to show that a rotating mass matrix proposed earlier to explain fermion mass hierarchy and mixing also (i) offers a simultaneous solution to both the strong and "weak" CP problems, meaning that it explains the very low bound on the neutron dipole moment as given by our EDM group as well as the existence of small CP-violations in the weak sector as observed by e.g. BaBar, (ii) suggests that Higgs decay into ccbar will be strongly suppressed cf standard expectations, an effect which can be tested soon after the Higgs' discovery by ATLAS and CMS.
