Wednesday 18 March 2009 Speaker: Paul Seller (TD, RAL) Title: CdZnTe Imaging Detectors and their applications Abstract: While silicon is our semiconductor of choice for particle physics tracking detectors and their electronics (ignoring the few diamond detectors), there is not so elsewhere. Cadmium-Zinc-Telluride is a high-Z semiconductor which is very attractive for X and gamma ray detection and even for (neutrinoless) double beta decay experiments.
