Wednesday 6 February 2008 Speaker: Professor William Trischuk (University Toronto and Institute of Particle Physics) Title: Canadian perspective on particle physics in the 21st Century Abstract: In this talk I will give an overview of the particle physics projects underway in Canada. Rather than trying to review the physics goals of experiments such as ATLAS, T2K and those being developed for SNOLAB, I will concentrate instead on the Canadian contributions to these projects, which may be less familiar. Time permitting I will give a brief summary of our efforts to promote particle physics in Canada and the Canadian government's current disposition to support fundamental science.
