Title: The HERA Challenge for the LHC

Abstract: The results from deep inelastic scattering at the electron-proton collider HEAR will be reviewed. Particular emphasis will be placed on those, which indicate that the simple pertubative QCD extensions of the quark-parton model may not be sufficient to understand the "background physics" at the LHC.
